How to Connect to Race

Competitors will need access to a Concept 2 RowErg and internet connection on a laptop to race at CIRC.  Racing will be scheduled  in real-time.  Login to the Time-Team Home Race at least 15 minutes before the race and sit ready at the virtual start line.  See requirements and instructions below.  Lightweight competitors will need to be checked in by weigh-ins not less than one (1) hour before racing.

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

To participate, each competitor must have:

  • A Concept2 static rowing ergometer with a PM3, PM4 or PM5 monitor
  • The PM monitor should be updated with the latest firmware.  Details on how to update PM firmware can be found on the Concept2 site: Concept 2 Utility
  • A USB A-to-B cable,  or possibly a USB-C cable depending on your PM monitor for each erg.
  • A dedicated Windows or MAC computer or laptop with the Chrome browser installed.
  • A stable Internet connection to the laptop.

**Updated Info:  It is possible to set up a hub with up to 4 (four) ergs connected to one dedicated laptop/computer connection.  You can watch this video from Australia provided by Time-Team.  It shows how to connect multiple ergs to one laptop.

If sharing an erg at a club or gym, allow 10 minutes between races to disconnect from the race, reset and login the next competitor.

CONNECTING TO RACE

Competitors will receive a secret unique race entry code via email from CIRC RACE CONTROL approximately 48 hours prior to the event.  Example link with code AAA-BBB-CCC: https://homerace.nl/s/AAA-BBB-CCC   Check your junk email also if you do not see it.  If you lost or did not receive your unique race code, you can reach out to secretariat@cdnindoorrowing.org

It is strongly suggested that you test your setup and connection in advance.  To confirm that you will be able to access the race system, please visit https://master.regatta-systems.com/homerace   Here you will find easy to follow detailed instructions in the linked manual, as well as the ability to  test your ergometer’s connection ahead of race day. Please note that passing the test at this stage does not necessarily guarantee the ability to participate on race day, but the result of your test is a very accurate indicator that you should be good on race day.
